The Gotham Bank
Birdman did $60.8M, but that didn't have DiCaprio. Wolf of Wall Street did an impressive $275M but that had mass-appeal. $140M.
el sid
I would guess about the same. 150M OS. Perhaps like Blood Diamond + ticket inflation + China (did Blood Diamond have a China start at all?). Storyline-wise I think The Revenant has more appeal but that's only me ;).
picores
Strong opening incoming both DOM and OS. Starting really well on Germany, Russia, Australia... 200m OS looks like the floor to me yet its still early. If it outgrosses Django OS (262m) would not surpise me. Di Caprio is on fire. MattW
Seems like it could do 200+ to me, nothing to base that on though. 125+225=350-ish worldwide
IndustriousAngel
yep, the strong opening in Germany comes from a semi-wide release ... after the strong PTA it will get more theaters as well as screens next week, so 2nd weekend should be very strong again and I guess that's true for many other regions. The only thing hampering it might be a low rewatch factor, it's really intense and definitely not for everyone.

Joel M
This past week’s 12 Oscar nominations for the film, leading the pack of contenders, no doubt helped bump it up in its first big international week: the UK ($7.8m) and South Korea ($5.7m), among the 15 new territories, opened higher than The Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained, star Leonardo DiCaprio’s last two pictures. 2. The Revenant, $61m from 26 territories. $146.3m cumulative – 40% international; 60% US http://www.theguardian.com/film/2016/jan/18/the-big-short-global-box-office-the-revenant-13-hours-the-secret-soldiers-of-benghazi?CMP=share_btn_tw 2 million up from earlier estimates...

picores
Great holds. With some Oscar support, Django and Wolf numbers are in good shape. 200m OS as the very very low end.
