TFA will stay way ahead of The Revenant next weekend (any remaining holiday weekends are going to be huge for TFA). But yeah, RA2 should win barring either a big underperformance for it or a supernaturally good Avatar hold for TFA.

Its just won the 3 most important awards at Golden Globes. A lot of people, even if they didn't like it that much, will start thinking maybe they missed something or will be trying to look smart/cultured infront of their friends, so WOM is not going to hurt it, atleast not by its second weekend already. The Oscar nominations it will receive may help too.

ROTK dropped 49.4% on its 4th week-end, so TFA is not that far behind in terms of ROTK legs. And ROTK didn't have the weekly drops that TFA has (TFA has a 8% buffer on ROTK weekly drops last week)

 

And ROTK legs = $1B so... the dream. It's still alive!
