Man, the industry is really giving Manchester by the Sea the cold shoulder. I'm still officially predicting Casey Affleck for Actor, but I'm so so so tempted to flip-flop to Denzel Washington.

Yeah, it's not looking good for Manchester at all at this point.

WGA Awards: Moonlights wins Original and Arrival wins Adapted.

this is super interesting as Moonlight is not expected to defeat LLL and Manchester there, especially with category placement confusions. Finally showing evidence of industry passion toward the film. Also happy for Arrival winning in Adapted category.

While I really liked Manchester and would not actually mind it winning BP. I always wondered the BP hopes came from, it just does not seem like a film that people would vote for BP  at all.

Manchester by the Sea would be my #1 pick in most years; it just had the bad luck of hitting screens the same year as La La Land.

It especially disappoints me that it hasn't caught traction in the screenwriting category despite having a script that handles its characters and themes with such depth, poignancy, and well-timed humor. It's my favorite original script of the decade through this point, and second to The Social Network overall once adaptations are thrown in. It will be a sin for Kenneth Lonergan to walk out empty-handed on Oscar night.

IMO Moonlight's first and second acts were PHENOMENAL , absolutely amazing , but the third act was pretty average ( either that or I missed something ) and the ending is a very important aspect of any movie and there it was lacking a bit compared to the rest of the nominees

My personal favorite was Manchester by the Sea and it did win the awards it deserved and it would have won supporting actress too if viola was nominated as lead but the category fraud these years seems to be working well

Picture ruined my score! (I figured since La La Land was a lock to win I just had some random numbers, I had it at number 4, at least it wasn't at number 9!)

Though I always have said nothing is a lock!

And you know-had La La Land won nobody would know that the wrong envelope was given!
