Wener Herzog : 'You find people stepping into a bus with a frozen rictus of a smile to show how happy they are. It’s just awful."

Wow. After its stampede through China (sure the numbers may have been massaged, but it was gigantic no matter what) and only releasing in a few theaters in areas with big Chinese populations, I figured Monster Hunt would do pretty well at least on a per-theater basis. Apparently not.

Bu IP Man 3 made some nice money for it's release size. Acc. to the China Forum it was less than the 103 declared theaters, also a few were in NY (partially snow-closed)

Interesting how those two differ, but IP Man is part 3, so maybe better introduced?

Rev should make 2.5x of 16m more in the rest of the run at least, giving it 119.2 + 40 = 159m.

3x more will give it 119.2 + 48 = 167m

3.5x more will give it 119.2 + 56 = 175m

My guess for the rest of RA2's run:

This week's weekdays: 3.2M (62.31M total)

Jan 29: 5.8M (1.7M weekdays, 69.81M total)

Feb 5: 2.8M (800k weekdays, 73.41M total)

Feb 12: 1.3M (450k weekdays, 75.16M total)

It'll be lucky to make more than 80M, Fifty Shades is going to hurt it too much this weekend which will cause sharp TC drops next weekend.

In a vacuum it might have held better than expected this coming weekend as it bounces back from #snowzilla or however this blizzard is being labeled, but I agree that 50 Shades is going to kick it in the nuts. It'll need some really good luck to manage a 2.5x mult.

Thanks to the Wayans Brothers, there will be a Fifty Shades movie every year for 4 years :P
