Fast X | May 19 2023 | Part 1 of an epic finale trilogy | Critics say Jason Momoa does a good job

To be fair, I don't think they ever promised they would include her. They followed up on the tease with Letty being alive - which I still think is the worst story idea they had. It made them unwilling to kill off characters and unwilling to have characters lose fights, so we get a whole side plot now of Tyrese saying how they can't die or lose fights.

It's still a bit crazy that after years of fans asking for it, they did go to space and no one cared.

They knew the scene was dull and boring. That is also why it was never showed as a marketing hook and just teased at the end of the final trailer.

I love Hobbs in 5-7 (Fast Five is his best performance aside from Pain and Gain) but afterwards he just plays himself. That constant ironic wink to the camera in 8 and H&S just clashes so heavily with the series' earnest sincerity and it sucks. Genuinely glad he's not coming back for the finale.

I see Hobbs and Shaw as pretty much a straight comedy, something entirely separated from the main franchise but was very entertaining (funny mostly) for what it was, , its just that I was straight up bored during parts of 8 and 9.

I also really like 2 for some reason

Fast 5

Furious 7

Fast 6

2 Fast

Hobbs and Shaw

Fast 1

Tokyo Drift

Fast 8

F9

Fast 4

Justin Lin stepping down over creative differences.

I hope Vin takes up the mantle, he directed that Fast short film Los Bandeloros for 4 (and it’s much better than 4). Vin auteurism is what cinema needs.

I am 100% sure we will eventually find out that Vin wanted the plot to go somewhere which Justin Lin didn't agree with.

Wondering if it will keep the May 19 date.

I don't think I buy the classic studio-drafted "creative differences" line here, the usual line given to the press when something goes down. Dropping a director, especially one like Lin who has been with this franchise for so long, a week into a major studio production? Maybe it's just me, but it seems fishy. You'd think any major "creative differences" would've been worked out sometime before cameras started rolling. For that reason, I'm not sure it's a script-related issue. Might be something else, we'll see.
