nobody seems interested in the weekdays - sounds about right for this time of year. And looking week to week fairly meh drops nothing overly spectacular. Should see some decent sized theater drops tonight again (SW down to around 2k I would think) and some pretty steep drops relative to the Superbowl for anything older than 2 weeks.

How to tell if a weekend will suck. None of the new releases even warrant 3000 screens

LOL, yeah it's kind of funny how during the holidays the weekday threads had dozens and dozens of pages talking about TFA mainly. Now a weekday thread is lucky to get to the second or third page :P

That's a good theater drop for Star Wars. Hardly losing anything, probably mostly dead wood anyway to be honest. Whatever it lost last weekend, those were obviously underperforming theaters since it had its best drop yet and lost its most theaters. Kind of strange.

I definitely pegged 13 hours for that large drop -- my local theater took the noon showing away from Star Wars and gave it to 13 Hours, so it was playing just one time per day anyway. It was on the chopping block, clearly.

I'm honestly surprised that the zombies film gets the most theaters, but also surprised The Choice is playing in more than Hail Caesar. I'm not sure why I'm surprised, but I just am. I guess lately I've heard a lot of people interested in seeing Hail Caesar though two weeks ago I had never even heard of it.

That was a rebound from the big snowstorm the previous week which prevented people on the East Coast from getting out to the theaters.
