Sure it didn't. The whole outline of the story is there. They may have saved money shots (and I hope the dog is OK) but the story is in the trailer: Moss leaves abusive hubby, he finds a way to invisibility to continue to harass her, she turns tables on him. I can't see how the movie could be different unless it's one of those "it was all in her head" twists

Yeah, I hope they don't go that route. They play with that idea in the trailer, so I think we can rule it out because it would be way too obvious.

I’m seeing “trailers didn’t do it justice” a lot.

That’s not good news for the marketing though.

Hoping for at least high teens.

After a crappy start (no horror over $30m total), pressure is on for this. A Quiet Place 2, Saw, Candyman, Purge, Escape Room, Malignant, The Conjuring 3 and Halloween Kills will hopefully get things back on track by the end of the year.

I can already tell this takes the template of an early 90s thriller circa Julia Roberts "Sleeping With the Enemy" crossed with the prospective horror elements of Invisible Man. Upgrade mixed many elements and influences to an extremely effective degree due to Leigh's ability to weave them into an engaging cohesive. This begs the question: Why didn't Leigh direct the original Saw? He knows how to take cheap exploitative plot devices, and refine them to a degree that elevates the genre.

This Invisible Man is not entertainment; it's merely a domestic-violence showcase for masochists.

Armond White

Getting the inevitable negative review of a movie everyone else will love out of the way early.

This is the kind of bullshit I hate. Completely inventing a narrative and finding a problem where there is none. Yeah, there's some shitty dudes out there, but that comment is gaslighting at its fucking finest.

Shut. The Fuck. Up.

Anyway, I'm pleasantly surprised to hear just how scary this is! I mean, it's a horror, but I was anticipating that it would be a really good movie, not that it would be such AND be scarier than we all think. Figured it would simply be a very well executed thriller.

I'm curious about the movie ( not excited, but curious ). I'll be watching it on Wednesday.

Hopefully it's not the case of a movie getting overhyped by critics. I saw the final trailer and the comments got me worried. Almost 90% of the comments are negative towards the flick, lol.

I really hope there's more than what the trailer is selling.

You know that great buzzy feeling when a movie ends really well? This movie ends perfectly. I saw it an hour ago and I’m still feeling a high.

Interesting. It was barely on my radar before but now I'm intrigued.  Curious to see how the RT reviews will turn out. Thanks!

I'm honestly loving it that Whannell and Wan are both (becoming/already are) acclaimed directors. Would love to see them team up and co-direct something one day (or be a writing/directing duo like the first Saw).

When does the embargo lift btw?

This movie is going to have fantastic reviews for a horror movie.

85%+ on RT incoming.

This will help this movie a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised with a 30m+ OW.

Horror movies always have a great chance of breakout specially when they have great reviews.
