Best Supporting Actor predictions-2016

Recommended Posts

Steve Martin, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk

Liam Neeson, Silence

Michael Shannon, Loving

JK Simmons, La La Land

Justin Theroux, The Girl on the Train

Wouldn't be surprised if this is the category I'm most wrong on, not many are standing out outside of Neeson and Martin

I disagree. I have this feeling that Jared Leto will do a very phenomenal job, enough of a job to be in discussion. While it might be admittedly difficult for him to edge his way into the five, I don't think all the remarks regarding his method acting were overstating anything.

A David Ayer action pic (and a comic book one at that) isn't getting any acting nominations. I mean really now. Logan Lerman has a better shot at getting retroactively nominated for Fury (lol remember when he had Oscar buzz coming out of Cinemacon in early 2014?) than Jared Leto does at getting one for Suicide Squad.

How does everyone feel about Daniel Brühl for Captain America: Civil War? He did a great job.

his performance was good, but it was tiny. you do realize the academy could get away with nominating RDJ for best "Supporting"  actor for this movie if they wanted to right? and it's also probably the only performance the academy would even begin to look at for this film.
