Okay.

 

Despite every effort to avoid pointless franchise wars, DAWN OF JUSTICE and CIVIL WAR keep getting compared -- frequently in a way designed to denigrate one or the other. Any thread remotely related to these topics keeps getting derailed by the same damn arguments.

 

And, for what it's worth, a comparison of the two is completely legitimate. They are giant tent-poles coming out within six weeks of each other, and they're both key stories within each franchise's cinematic universe. So, for those who simply can't resist the temptation to continually compare/contrast the two, this thread is for you.

 

WARNING: all the usual rules apply. Criticism -- even strong criticism -- of either movie or franchise or company is allowed. However, directing that criticism towards fans and fellow posters is not. At this point, all of you should be very familiar with these rules. The staff isn't going to be lenient in this thread: if you cross the line and go after other posters, we'll start handing out warning points or even bans if necessary.

 

Also, SPOILERS ARE ALLOWED. It's impossible to get into any sort of in-depth critical discussion without talking about details, so -- fair warning -- spoilers for all Marvel and DC movies are allowed, even un-tagged.

 

This thread will be the place to make any of these arguments. If BVS/Civil War posts pop up elsewhere, we will delete posts in those other threads (the main CIVIL WAR thread, the two BVS threads, the various club threads, to name some examples). So if you want to talk about this, do it in this thread. Hopefully this can be something worthwhile and generate some interesting discussion (for those who're interested) without frustrating those who'd rather pass on the whole affair.

So... Spider-Man felt out of place in that last Civil War trailer and none of the BvS trailers did anything for me. Looks like X-Men Apocalypse will have to do.

In theory, that's for straight-up box-office club stuff. Numbers for all the CBMs. This is just for the Marvel/DC stuff, focused very specifically on these two movies.
