chasmmi
Ok then lets get to this. Will briefly summarise places 31st -39th and then go into more details with the rest as we go: 39th: HeyItsMoses - Pre top 15 score: 87,000, Top 15 score: 164,000 - Total Score: 251,000 points Had some good early results with both a couple of strong weeklies and SOTMs too, but then results began to wane a little and combined with a low preseason score, finishes in 39th. 38th: Firedeep - Pre top 15 score: 212,000, Top 15 score: 116,000 - Total Score: 328,000 points One of six players to not partake in any week to week events, this was a pure preseason score that was hurt a lot by some massive predictions on Pete's Dragon that did not quite work out as hoped. 37th: DexterofSuburbia - Pre top 15 score: Minus 112,000, Top 15 score: 462,000 - Total Score: 350,000 points As with all of the players outside the top 30, Dexter did not really partake in the in-season events and thus relied mostly on preseason scores to carry him. These were mostly on the low side hence the negative score pre top 15. However a top 15 score that ranked in the top 10 of all players did lift him 2 places into 37th. 36th: Treetrunk Special - Pre top 15 score: 253,000, Top 15 score: 197,000 - Total Score: 450,000 points In the Winter Game, Tree had an incredible preseason, especially the top 15. This sadly could not be repeated here and combined with non-compete in the main game meant that a challenge for the high places was not on the cards. .
chasmmi
35th: Films - Pre top 15 score: 417,000, Top 15 score: 47,000 - Total Score: 464,000 points Another pure preseason player, films was having quite a solid preseason score until the top 15 came along. 47,000 was never going to be enough to elevate his position without some serious help from SOTMs and Weeklies. 34th: Maxmoser - Pre top 15 score: 12,000, Top 15 score: 475,000 - Total Score: 487,000 points A really strong top 15 score could not salvage the difficult position that the rest of Maxmoser's preseasons had put him in. However, 475k is nothing to sneeze at, if he is able to come back again and be stronger in the other disciplines. 33rd: Empire - Pre top 15 score: Minus 574,000, Top 15 score: Minus 12,000 - Total Score: 562,000 points Pretty much the opposite to Maxmoser, Empire was having a pretty decent preseason indeed until she mistepped quite badly with the top 15 to register one of two negative scores in this section that I will be reporting on. 32nd: Mike Hunt - Pre top 15 score: 607,000, Top 15 score: 53,000 - Total Score: 660,000 points A testament to how important playing the week by week game can be, this is the final playing to score less than 1 million points and also the penultimate player to play zero weekly questions. There were some strong points In this run and there is promise for the future. 31st: Jayhawk - Pre top 15 score: 840,000, Top 15 score: 260,000 - Total Score: 1,100,000 points How different this summer has been to previous iterations. 260k for a top 15 would have been quite a weak score most years, this summer however it was easily in the top half of predictors. Preseason has been brutal this year and as such the less frequent players week to week have suffered.
chasmmi
30th - #Ed Pre-top 15 score: 1,109,000 Top 15 Score: 164,000 Total Score: 1,273,000 Overall Assessment: Ed played a decent amount of weekly questions and made some good points, however SOTMs let him down quite a bit and the top 15 needed to be higher to truly challenge. Notable Prediction: Closest predictor for Secret Life of Pets (480k away) Not so shining moment: Alice Through the Looking Glass to make $790M Worldwide
chasmmi
29th - Laguy Pre-top 15 score: 1,035,000 Top 15 Score: 246,000 Total Score: 1,281,000 Overall Assessment: Pipping Ed by 8000 points, Laguy is an unsung hero of these games. He runs and controls the best thread of the summer/winter every time even when he is not regularly predicting and that is pretty awesome. He only occasionally made weekly predictions this summer but scored consistently high when he did. Will be a threat if he comes out in force for winter. Notable Prediction: One of only two players that were not drunk when predicting Independence Day Domestic total: ($92M) Not so shining moment: Clearly was drunk by the time he reached China though Independence Day - $200M in China.
chasmmi
28th - JJ8 Pre-top 15 score: 1,075,000 Top 15 Score: 209,000 Total Score: 1,284,000 Overall Assessment: Just nipping in ahead of LaGuy by 3000 points comes the other hero of this game. Scorer and tablemaker extraordinaire: JJ8. He had a pretty up and down season, mixing some good results with a couple of questionable SOTM decisions and some outright shameful weekly scores (hypocrisy alert here is sounding). Still a hero though. Notable Prediction: One of 4 players, who actually had the balls to put sausage party in their top 15 and the closest predictor of those 4 too. ($110M) Not so shining moment: Independence Day: $433M Domestic - I think that is all that needs to be said.
chasmmi
27th - Kalo Pre-top 15 score: 1,076,000 Top 15 Score: 236,000 Total Score: 1,312,000 Overall Assessment: A bigger gap now up to Kalo who had a good if unspectacular preseason. Mild weekly participation also gave a nice little points haul although this was then let down by SOTM scores. Overall a good effort though. Notable Prediction: Joint closest predictor for Central Intelligence Dom - $125M Not so shining moment: Alice Through the Looking Glass to make $850M Worldwide and Ice age at $750M
chasmmi
26th - Baumer Pre-top 15 score: 1,207,000 Top 15 Score: 127,000 Total Score: 1,334,000 Overall Assessment: Another little bump now to the game's creator and the reason that we are all here. It's great to see him take part as a player even if time constraints hurt both regularity and thought that goes into a prediction. Overall though, Baumer had some high points and some low points this summer and surely will be a ig challenger in winter if schedule allows Notable Prediction: The only player to see the full breakout potential of SLOP: $370M Dom Not so shining moment: I blame him completely for everything IDR related in this game! $430M Dom, $145M OW, $1.1B WW
chasmmi
25th - Alpha Pre-top 15 score: 1,350,000 Top 15 Score: 187,000 Total Score: 1,537,000 Overall Assessment: The final player in the game to not play during the season, Alpha had some stunning preseason predictions, finishing near the top of multiple charts. A fully committed game here could have created a real contender for this summer. Notable Prediction: One of the closest predictors for Ghostbusters: $115M Not so shining moment: Nice Guys making $125M Dom

chasmmi
24th - grey ghost Pre-top 15 score: 1,384,000 Top 15 Score: 170,000 Total Score: 1,554,000 Overall Assessment: Solidly in the realms of respectable final scores now, 1.55M points is a score that will not win summer, but will show enough bright points that a player can start seeing where the game could have been won or lost for them. Grey ghost is always a solid player and he will be back. Notable Prediction: Pretty dead on with SLOP WW $750M vs $767M Not so shining moment: Less dead on with IDR, Alice and Ice Age all making over $875M WW.
chasmmi
23rd - Glassfairy Pre-top 15 score: 1,462,000 Top 15 Score: 234,000 Total Score: 1,696,000 Overall Assessment: Another big jump in scores now to the only player in the 1.6M bracket. Glassfairy is always around in these contests and always gives his all. This summer saw a very strong SOTM season compared to usual and some good points being made with weeklies too. Notable Prediction: The only player in the game not to go red on XMEN Dom: $188M Not so shining moment: Umm BFG $200M Dom... yeah.
chasmmi
22nd - 24Lost Pre-top 15 score: 1,513,000 Top 15 Score: 243,000 Total Score: 1,756,000 Overall Assessment: We are getting close to the big boys at 2M+ now with another stalwart of the summer and winter in 24lost. A really good season of weekly answers kept him looking in contention until the later preseason questions factored in. It was still a strong effort and will be looking to see them again in winter. Notable Prediction: One of only 4 players not to go red for Civil War Dom and also was close to hitting the OW bonus too: $418M and 172M respectively. Not so shining moment: Suicide Squad winning the summer was ambitious.
chasmmi
21st - Thatoneguy Pre-top 15 score: 1,738,000 Top 15 Score: 87,000 Total Score: 1,825,000 Overall Assessment: Another player hurt by htier top 15, thatoneguy was immensely consistent all summer, winning some SOTMs and preseason tables along the way. This player could have really finished strongly with a good top 15 and will be looking to put that right this winter I am sure. Notable Prediction: Finding Dory at $490M Dom was a very close shout Not so shining moment: Turtles hitting $145M in China was not.
chasmmi
20th - The Panda Pre-top 15 score: 1,255,000 Top 15 Score: 590,000 Total Score: 1,845,000 Overall Assessment: Proof that a good top 15 was possible! Panda really nailed his preseasons, finishing 4th overall and storming up to the leaderboard in the process. If you think that Panda scored a total of zero points for weeklies and SOTMs combined compared to the 634k of oneguy below him, you can see that there was a chance here for something really special to happen. Notable Prediction: Another Sausage Party predicting hero for top 15 Dom Not so shining moment: Ice Age at $750M WW

chasmmi
19th - Narniadis Pre-top 15 score: 1,670,000 Top 15 Score: 181,000 Total Score: 1,851,000 Overall Assessment: A reasonably weak top 15 has hurt an otherwise strong summer. It could have been the difference between 1.85M and 2M+ points. Especially considering the very strong weeklies and SOTM scores. Notable Prediction: Nailed the Civil War China gross with $190M Not so shining moment: Finding Dory however did not quite reach $200M in China
chasmmi
18th - Movieman89 Pre-top 15 score: 1,481,000 Top 15 Score: 403,000 Total Score: 1,884,000 Overall Assessment: And a second good strong top 15 score to praise. One of the top 10 results for a top 15 DOM list. Movieman was solid in every area this summer but did not find the niche from which the mega points could be harvested. Still a good showing though. Notable Prediction: Another dead on Civil War OW predictor at $182M Not so shining moment: Independence Day blowing past $200M in China
chasmmi
17th - Kayumanggi Pre-top 15 score: 1,713,000 Top 15 Score: 187,000 Total Score: 1,900,000 Overall Assessment: A beautifully round number from Kayu who has managed this season to avoid their traditional pitfall of big SOTM losses. Kayu is always a strong player and as such would be likely a little disappointed with the 187 Top 15 score. However, winter is a time for redemption... Notable Prediction: $135M OW for Squad was a pretty darned good prediction Not so shining moment: $1B for IDR was not.
