Endgame 2nd week estimate is 145.8 million

people were calling detective pikachu DOA because Endgame got a A+ cinema score

I thought movie would have a drop like the first avengers

50%

but endgame drop 58%

next weekend will be really interesting

I thought that Endgame's A+ would give it above-average legs for the MCU. Looks like it's dropping normally, though. It opened so big that it probably would have dropped even further if not for that A+. Maybe Pika Pika OW vs. Endgame 3rd weekend will actually be a battle

Friday this year was a national holiday though. If you want to compare 3 day weekends you're better off looking at previous Pokemon movie tallies from Saturday to Monday since Pokemon always opens on a 3 day weekend (Marine Day weekend).

I’ve always been on the boat. But I have been trying to be objective about how it’s doing. I still think it’s overperforming at my theater by a good margin but it’s still good that it hasn’t slowed down here either

I’m still rooting for this movie to take the number one spot on its opening weekend, but even taking the larger than expected drop of Endgame into account, that might be a tall order if this movie is only expected to open to around $50 million. At the very least, this ought to be interesting.

The lowest tracking is 55 Million I thought? Anyways it's definitley not opening that low and Endgame this week had a 59.5% drop. It's dropping another -50% next week cause Pikachu is competion.

Same people were projecting US at 40 million and finished 71 million

they just look at data too early and make a judgment

it it will become more clear Thursday during premieres

It looks like DP performs like the average Pokemon movie in Japan. No breakthrough, but not the flop that some predicted either just because it is a US adaptation.

And of course it will over-perform by an incredible margin in the rest of the world compared to a Pokemon cartoon.

And that’s fine. A average Pokémon movie does good business in japan

captain marvel did 17 million in japan

i think getting to jungle book 23 million would be good
