newbie BO buff
Worst case for Pets would be 298 DOM + 351 OS. And that's not gonna happen.

keysersoze123
My prediction for Pets OS - 550m+. Celling depends on China.

I don't think Pets will touch Zootopia in China, maybe 40-50m in China. 550m would be a huge OS take, but am not sure if it can be achieved if China doesn't help much. Planodisney
I think 750 WW is the low end also. 750-850 is the range.
MinaTakla
DHD The top dog domestically, Illumination/Universal’s The Secret Life Of Pets is taking its time to lap up international markets in a staggered release. This weekend, the pooches, kittens, rabbits & more took in $8M in nine territories for an early international total of $42.76M. New openings came in India ($493K) and Trinidad ($127K) while the UK/Ireland held No. 1 for the 3rd frame in a row at $4.7M and a $30.2M cume. While Pets had a fantastic launch pad this weekend domestically, it has also smartly played the release date game overseas thus far, especially staking out that early UK date. Now, it’s got a major debut in North America to help wag the tail, and heads to 57 more territories over the next three months. Never underestimate the power of pet owners. Purple Minion
Interesting ... the Spanish Latin American version of SLOP will have voice talents from Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Argentina. Imagine each pet will have a distinctive accent, which could be a great idea! A brilliant dubbing makes all the difference in this market.
Planodisney
It's looking like a domestic 325 now. An OS run to 575 could get this to 900 WW. I think 850 is very likely and probably higher.

Omni
Domestic should challenge IO, unless IA5 hurts it next weekend. It's just a few millions behind Minions and WOM seems to be better (the film appears to be a piece of crap, but not at the bananas' level). OS minus Japan and China should be about 400M, meaning IO's gross adjusted with the worse ER. Projection: 355M DOM 485M OS 840M WW Ranges: 335/375M DOM 400/525M OS 735/900M WW
keysersoze123
I doubt its making 355m domestic. Its dropping 50% in its 2nd weekend. There would be some impact bcos of IA5(though that is going to be big domestic disappointment). Then we have Bourne/Suicide opening that will take away all PLF screens. So it should finish around 330m.
Omni
Minions' IM from now would put it at 326 millions. With Fory freefalling, its only direct competition will come from IA5 (an anticipated fail) and, much later, from Pete's Dragon (Planes #s?). Sub-335M is a reasonable bet only if it falls 55%+ next weekend.
MinaTakla
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETSThe international weekend estimate for this new entry in the Illumination/Universal canon is $4.4M in nine territories. There were no new openings this frame as the animated comedy continues rollout in 57 more markets over the next few months. The offshore total is $50.8M for a worldwide total of $254M. The UK scratched Pets’ belly with a No. 2 third frame and $2.8M at 524 dates. The cume there is a tail-wagging $34.9M and pacing above Zootopia over the same amount of release days. Argentina, Chile and Colombia will sit up in the next week. DHD Edited July 17, 2016 by MinaTakla

Planodisney
Are we talking Pets DOMESTIC? Because it's not going to 335 domestic. Looking at its 2nd weekend hold compared to other original animated features, it was not good at all. I wouldn't be shocked if it actually comes in st 49 million tomorrow as they were calculating a VERY big Sunday hold on that weekend estimate.
