Opening Day Paris Periphery : 41 814 admissions second biggest opening day of the year. Fifty shades darker first was 50 212  admissions but was hollidays

 

The Jungle book was "only" 25 816 admissions and Cinderella was "only" 19 340 admissions.

 

 

Opening day France will be great !

WEDNESDAY GROSSES

$11.4M in NA

$21.9M overseas (France opened to $1.3M – incl previews the total was $1.8M)

 

Global Wed gross: $33.3M

Cume-to-date: $461.9M

 

May hit $500M by tomorrow (since it opens in Australia).

 

This weekend it also opens in Hungary, Israel and Argentina.

Weekend should be at least $90M NA and $120 OS -> $700M+ by Sunday

They did bring it back to theatres here around christmas time a year later, even though the dvd, etc. were already on the market.

That is the reported figure. BOM updates the numbers if there are re-releases.

$124m in Japan

$117m in UK

$78m in Germany

$67m in France

 

BatB has just opened in Germany, but it's very lower than DH2's German opening.

It also depends the box office performance in Japan, so yeah it's too early to tell.

The Euro currency is much weaker than in 2011 though, same thing for the Pound and the Yen. That makes the comparison pretty hard. And I'm not even talking about Latin America.

If ERs were like back when DH2 then the comparison would be much easier.
