MPR broke even. It wasn't a superhit they expected but they won't blame it on him cause the problem was obviously underestimating how beloved the property was. and the movie got 79% on RT so very far from a dud. 

 

Into the Woods made 213M WW on the budget of 50M and had 71% on RT. Not a dud.

 

POTC:OST made over 1B WW.

Although admittedly, Poor Unfortunate Souls isn't really a song that is all that demanding on a non-singer's vocals. Just need to have just enough craziness in her cadence, and it works.

Melissa is an inspired choice for Ursula. The character is plump so better cast a plump actress (Melissa, Latifa, etc) than put Gaga in fatsuit or make Ursula skinny.

I have mad respect for this counterpoint.  It's what I say every time I'm told Evans is too old for Prince Eric.  I don't care.  All Eric has to do is look hot and hang out with his dog.  Evans is perfect.
