Really? I haven't been following his results recently.

Yeah but many films don't do well in certain markets and do 500 + overseas.

True story.

Let's see how it goes. America will be the key.

The last one did 40M OD lol, an over 75% drop.

Just calm down, folks. We're still talking about predictions. The actuals might be higher or lower. ;)

That being said, even if Apocalypse underperforms, that's just a tiny misfire.  Fox still had a huge profit with Deadpool, Wolverine 3 is confirmed, Deadpool 2 is coming, X-Force is probably coming too.

Overseas grosses will probably be interesting now. I predict 420-440 million tops.

Well, this is interesting.  All I can say is I found the movie to be a lot more entertaining than reviews led me to believe it would be, and it sounds like people who actually saw it - rather than those kept away by reviews, actually liked it and rated it well.   I don't know how powerful word of mouth is vs reviews, but I guess we'll see.  I'll wait to see today's numbers before I change my four day from around 90 million.

The problem with X-Men and other comic book movies is you can't have every single one of them have the plot be about the world/humanity being destroyed.  The scope is so large that people get tired and numb to it.

I think it is the reason Deadpool did so well.  No bullshit about saving the world.  No supervillan.  No angst if he should save humanity.  Straight forward 3 scene story where he kicks ass, saves his girl and has a great time doing it.

she saved him but ok

Aw man, somewhat disappointing for X Men :(

Very disappointing, really. It's likely not going to make in four days what DOFP did in three. Only made less of a shock by the early critical drubbing.

Outside of Greek Wedding, is this the biggest drop for a sequel?

Huntsman is down ~65% OW and ~70% dom I think.

Apocalypse really hit Civil War hard - the 4th Friday number for it is below the 4th Friday number for Winter Soldier. Only a 93% jump from Thursday as well.

Yup, Civil War so far had some hilarious legs.

Apocalypse, while disappointing, still pulled a 26M OD which was obviously gonna hurt Civil War.

Civil War's legs have been horrendous. True definition of crumbling. It is lucky BvS came out before it to take some heat off it in that regard.

Both had hilarious legs. BvS is the absolute definition of toxic WOM and besides the fanboys Civil War probably had some pretty bad WOM from everybody else.

I am ready to see Apocalypse having some really funny legs like pulling a 2.1x multiplier from the 3 day OW or some shit like that.

Yeah I'm sure Disney is real upset after the triumvirate of zootopia, jungle book, and CW. Episode 7 making bank, and Rogue One being a potentially 1.5 billion grosser.
