God i love this franchise so much.I am not a fun of horror films but tgese films are awesome.For me,horror films thar don't solely rely on jumpscares and slash but create these unsetting,creepy feeling inside you just by its atmosphere.And while this franchise has its fair share of the former they trully master at the later.

I was sold as soon as I read "Farmiga"; I love both Vera and Taissa. They are both amazing actresses and I hope that Hollywood keeps giving them better opportunities.

 

ETA: Damien Bichir is in this too?? Man, now I REALLY have to see this.

Honestly, don't wait too much from teaser, cause all trailers for A:C were shitty (and I've gone and seen movie only tnx to WOM). But this looks gorgeous.

Wasn’t impressed by the jump scare but great teaser otherwise and should be another good film in the Conjuring franchise. My girl Farmiga finally get some Hollywood roles, so I’ll be there day 1.

LOL. this franchise relies on jumpscares, it's not smart or atmospheric

That was a good trailer, I really like the lighting and the visuals. It's looks strong enough that you could make something good out of this and Corin Hardy seems to know what he's doing.

A bit underwhelmed by that trailer, though I admit that the ending was a jump scare for me. Expected more substance but I guess that's why it's a teaser trailer.

Quite good. A bit too short to say more. IMO better than the Annabelle trailers. It seems to become pretty atmospheric but with this setting it just has to be. I wonder if I should watch more than this teaser. Would probably be better if I could resist but that will become hard. 

To me, the Conjuring movies are not only good because of the jump scares. Especially when I watched the first one, at a certain point I was even frightened when absolutely nothing happened .

The trailer is good but this is just a teaser trailer. I am looking forward to the full trailer probably in 2 months, I don't think they are going to show a horror movie trailer at SDCC (exception being IT: Chapter 2 next year though for obvious reasons).

Nowhere in the post you quoted was it mentioned that that the franchise is "smart." 

Also, what's with horror fans and their insistence on always looking for something to belittle horror films? What are horror films supposed to do? Seems like they are not supposed to have too much gore because they are accused of being "torture porn," and they should not have jump scares because those are now allegedly a bad thing (since when?). Then, if a horror film is too atmospheric or takes its time to unfold its horror elements, they are called "boring" or "dull." WTF? Since when is gore, atmosphere, and fucking jump scares a bad thing ina  horror film?
