Good news from the UK thread:

DM3 has reached £47.2m in the UK as of last weekend.

It needs only £200,000 to cross DM2 and only £400,000 to cross Minions to become Illumination's highest grossing film ever in the UK and the third highest animated film ever in the UK after Toy Story 3 and Shrek 2

They just wanted to announce it as soon as possible I guess. No way the film has grossed another 1.7M this week.

Looks like actuals are going to come in even higher. We will know in the next hour.

Kudos to you - you called this beating Dory and Zootopia back in July I guess.

Yep. Actuals came in and they're higher!

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $263,269,020    25.6%
Foreign:  $766,116,761    74.4%

Worldwide:  $1,029,385,781

DM3 is now almost $1m ahead of Finding Dory and $6m ahead of Zootopia.

Maybe it can end its run with 1.035B if it holds well from now on.

So a 2.1M OS week, when the previous one was 1.3M. When did all the extra money come from? Only possible explanation is that Universal has made some sort of recalculation, but it's not something we're used to seeing. Suspicious to say the least.

Not like it matters anymore, I'm just observing that something doesn't add up.
