With a 175m budget that means it's probably just below beak even territory from box office alone, but even with a similar drop in merchandising it'll still drive big business for Disney overall.  Does a 4th Cars movie have more or less than a 50% chance?  6 years between 2 and 3, maybe 2023 or so for Cars 4........

It's unlikely there'll be a Cars 4 anytime soon at this rate, if at all, I'd imagine.

Yeah, Pixar's golden age ended with Toy Story 3. Since then, just one great film, two good ones (Brave and Dory) and four (!!!!!) pieces of garbage. Very sad...

i think the 150+ dom was a fair result even if a little low. cars2 had an impact and was hoping it did 170 dom but 150+ is fine.

OS though is just sad. China's $20m total is less than Smurfs3's $25.5m. Should have done $50m odd in China and improvements in other markets for

150 dom + 250 os-china + 50 china = 400 ww. that was the minimum expectation from cars3 and it failed in OS badly.

right now it's looking at 153 dom + 202 os-china + 20 china = 375 ww. (assuming $9-10m from Germany)

If it had taken Emojis release date it likely would have made 170m+. They took a gamble, and lost
