KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE | 310.7 M overseas ● 410.9 M worldwide

It might do very well in China, but that's all. I sense a Maze Runner 2 type situation unless Fox markets it brilliantly and the movie is as good if not better than first movie. Kingsman was such a pleasant surprise. You don't get movies like that often.

Great results

Marv Film’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle debuted at number one in 55 markets over the weekend. Matthew Vaughn’s action sequel grossed $61.2m from 11,623 screens in its opening weekend of release. The opening weekend result is 63% greater than Kingsman: The Secret Service in the same group of markets at current exchange rates.

The UK is the top performing market, generating $11.1m in week one, which is more than twice the result of Kingsman: The Secret Service. Russia produced $6m, which is 63% bigger than Kingsman: The Secret Service. Taiwan generated $4.8m, for Fox’s second-highest opening ever. Australia box office results were 32% bigger than Kingsman: The Secret Service on $4.4m, while Indonesia produced $3.3m, and Malaysia produced $2.8m.

The markets currently in release represent less than half of the international marketplace. The film starring Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong and Jeff Bridges debuts in South Korea this week, with openings in France and China set for October.

If it performs similar to the first film or a small increase, I could see Fox greenlighting a third film.

The first one was so giant, that it could get significantly lower (say 350 to 400m) lower and still be interesting to make a third one if they have a good idea for it. They are not that expensive.

wow...iinternationally it is tearing up. Could end up out grossing first one in many markets...good for it. It has to make up for the domestic disappointment. IT hype is too strong to counter it. Maybe Fox should have released Kingsman 2 in August. I think it would have managed 45+ even 50+ and done 140+ domestically.
