Don't think it will do very well in Asia.. :(

It will be forced against other Blockbusters when it is release in China(September). And in most other parts of Asia..presales are not looking very good.

The trailer in theaters has not been resonating well with audiences.

It doesn't seem to have a lot of hype in Germany either. It's still a week until it starts, but expectations seem rather muted at this point. It might very well start only in 3rd or 4th place. That isn't to say that the legs couldn't be very good, it's not exactly the type of movie people rush out for.

In India , Dunkirk opens to shy over half a million USD (3.60cr) on day 1 , good opening.Ratings from reviewers are out of this world.Audience reaction is very mixed.

This type of movies generally won't do even a million USD in India but Nolan pull is stronger like black hole , can do close to Interstellar numbers.

Nolan films will have very long legs in India than any other foriegn releases.

HUGE opening in India, especially for a war movie with no stars. Pretty much just the Nolan name getting it that opening. 15 Crores is blockbuster level for the movie considering a limited release and no dubs available and limited marketing. The Nolan effect lives on in India.

Good thing the movie barely has any dialogue. Dubbing less of an issue for this movie than one might think. :)

Majority of multiplexes in India will only screen in English language for Hollywood movies as urban audience are good at English.Dubbing is for release in rural areas in single screens for popcorn flicks.

As Nolan films aren't popcorn films, majorly pays from multiplexes so they have stopped dubbing his films, even if you dub it they aren't going to do much.

Interstellar is the most well received Nolan film in India going by  biggest online ticket selling site bookmyshow ,with audience score at 9.1/10

Dunkirk is currently sitting at 8.6/10 (second best)

Dark knight rises made 9.3million USD (including dub versions)

Interstellar made 6.9million USD (no dub)

Dunkirk might do somewhere in between them with 2.4 million USD weekend , while interstellar weekend is 1.7million USD

I always want see what Nolan can do with a well received popcorn flick , hoping he does it one day
