DAJK

Wednesday: Nerve - $3.75M (1.1M previews), Trek 4.9M, Pets 3.8M

Recommended Posts

160-170 (am guessing as final DOM) wion't be a bad number for STB looking at how sequels have performed.

APOC showed a big drop from DOFP : 234=>156.

STB is gonna do better % wise with 229=>165.

It's been that sort of a year.

Okay can you guys please stop talking about the box office? Me and @K1stpierrey are talking about her interest in gay men and how it is detrimental to her sex life LOL

Kinda disappointing considering the last 2 treks didn't drop more than 50% from their FSS weekends.

Yes. STID though burnt off demand with 13.5m from Wed+Thu.

The first Trek was effectively the first good summer movie since Wolverine disappointed, it got the advantage of word of mouth. STID opened on Wednesday and had Memorial Day softening the drop on its second weekend.

Vacation went on to do $58M domestic. I know Deadline and others have used it as a comparison but Vacation is an R-rated comedy. Nerve is a PG-13 Pokemon Go type movie that has thus far attracted young females. I can see Nerve opening similarly. A $14-15M five day but I don't see it having the same multiplier.

Sorry meant $14-15M three day lol

Vacation was R rated and skewed older had an 80%+ jump on Friday.  I don't think Nerve which is reportedly skewing young and female will get near a jump like that in summer.

This couldl be one of only three Trek movies to not hit a 3x.

I saw a grand total of 1 trailer for Nerve at the theaters. And I have been to the theatre quite a bit this summer. I too thought this would be a film that would be maybe 10 million total or even less. The fact that it's going to make around $15M in its first five days is pretty incredible to me.

Its going to make 15M in fri-sun, and around 20M in first five days
