No, it's not. As August goes on, more and more schools start their business again. A 60% drop on a third Monday is decent. GOTG dropped 63% on its third Monday IIRC.

Good hold for SS as well. It is now under GOTG daily numbers if this figure holds but it's a good hold regardless.

This is their second Monday not their third. GOTG dropped 58% so they're still in the same region.

As for SS's International drop: just 55.7% (BvS had a much bigger drop with 66%)

The problem is despite opening $40 million higher than Guardians of the Galaxy, they're dropping so fast that Guardians of the Galaxy is already starting to overtake them. Eventually they'll be behind domestically.

Well that was pretty much given since day one. Can't remember anyone predicting SS would overtake GotG, even during OW.

Doesn't matter as long as the flim crosses the 300 domestic mark.

We all knew from the embargo lift SS wasn't gonna have gotg legs.

The flim has a 40+ mil lead over gotg  so it has a little to compensate to make it to the 300 domestic mark.

Well of course. I don't think anyone predicted it would overtake GOTG after its OW. Having said that though while it is falling behind, it still has quite the lead on GOTG. However given how strong GOTG late legs were, I personally don't expect SS to overtake it.

 

SS has already fallen $14M behind Deadpool after opening in the same range and GOTG had way better legs than DP. I saw a chart for GOTG and its leg were remarkable.

 

All in all though I do think SS will end up in the $300-310M range.

There are zero people who think Suicide Squad will make more than Guardians of the Galaxy, so this is expected and no surprise.

Nobody expected as good legs as GOTG. Drop is perfectly fine and if it continues then it finishes 305-310M. Very good end result.
