The Secret Life of Pets is now the highest grossing non-Disney/Pixar original animated film of ALL TIME worldwide with $674.5 m! The previous record holder is 2008’s Kung fu Panda with $631.7m.

Congratulations to Illumination!

$35-40M opening, $125M total. A Safe House-type run.

Possibly. I think the potential is there for more, but Sony needs to step on the gas with promotion.

I'm looking forward to reviews from TIFF. If it's a fun, crowd pleasing movie like I've been hearing, I see it going higher (say $50m opening and $160-175m total).

IO is locked. Not sure about anything else. We will see.

It cannot miss DP even if it has bad late legs.

IO/MINIONSadded 23-25 after their 4.5-5M weekends.

DM2 added 29 after a 5.9M weekend.

I don't see SLOP adding less than 16.3 after a 5.8M weekend (to catch DP).

Predictions for next weekend:

Don't Breathe: 17M

Suicide Squad: 11.4M

Kubo: 9.6M

Sausage Party: 8.4M

War Dogs: 7M

Pete's Dragon: 6.2M

Bad Moms: 6.1M

Ben Hur: 5M

Jason Bourne: 4.6M

The Mechanic: 4M

Mechanic is going to flop so hard. I won't be surprised with less than 3M

Pets deserves all the money so fine by me.

Bourne will drop 42% again next weekend, mid 30's for Labor Day, then have two back to back 50% drops.

Everything about Bourne and Trek's WW runs is fucking hilarious (and sad).

You are expecting an under 50% drop for Ben-Hur? Lol.

I think Mechanic should do 6-7M. Statham can usually make that happen.

If it does 11M this weekend 5M would be 55%.

Oh yeah, just checked the Friday numbers.

I am still expecting a 57.5-60% drop for it.
