lol a $900 PTA for the 3-day. Awful.

Weinstein's HANDS OF STONE has cement shoes, as it expanded into over 2,000+ theaters and grossed just $1.3M ($649 per), $3.7M total.

Yeah. True.

Which makes me wonder......why doesn't BlueSky's other animated movies have as big of an OS-appeal as the Ice Age films.

I can understand that the first one was BlueSky's first animated film to date, that's why the sequels managed to deliver huge numbers. But even then.....both the Rio-films managed to more WW, than Ice Age 1.

So why aren't the OS-people giving the money to the Non-Ice Age films? Like they should have done with the Peanuts Movie, last year?

They're not appealing enough? theres no magic formula to get people to watch a film regardless of what studio makes them.

The only Non-Ice Age sequel, BlueSky has made was Rio 2, so far......that's it. No plans to greenlight Epic 2 or Peanuts 2?

Peanuts had little OS appeal and was frontloaded for an animated movie; a sequel could decrease to the point where it's not worth the investment. Epic had a slightly better gross and slightly lower budget but with much less critical acclaim.

IMO it's looking at ~370m.
