I do think the turn for bad reviews pretty much killed Blair Witch. Also didn't help that it was a sequel to a divisive-at-best found footage movie from 15+ years ago that already spawned one crappy sequel.

Sausage Party looks like it will get to 98 with the dollar bump if Sony does not interfere. Now 98 is too close to 100 to just ignore it. Maybe a movie can end at 96, but 98 is worthy of a push.

Disney hated that movie. It hated it so much it didn't even put the Disney brand on it.

98-99M there is no necessity of a push. 4 movies ending in that range because they just didn't have enough gas, compared to the large number of movies dragged from 99M to 100M+

Think it will miss by about 5 million. Depends on Japan I guess. It's been looking that way for a while though, so it's not even really news.

 

If it made 200m, then it'd probably beat Tarzan by a hair worldwide but I haven't expected that for a week or two, so...

Sully delays dull new releases this weekend.                                         Overall the top 12 was at $74.6 million this weekend which is typical for a September weekend but down nearly 12% from last year.     Sully easily led the weekend this weekend with a drop under 40%, that drop is steeper than Bridge Of Spies last fall, and on-par with Captain Phillips and other Warner Bros dramas.  Even with Magnifcent Seven coming out on Friday, this should hold up just fine. Look for Sully to make north of $115 million.                                                     Among the dreadful new releases this weekend, Blair Witch was the top new release with an underwhelming estimated $9.6 million. That debut is slightly better than Director Adam Wingard's last film You're Next. But is way worse than the last Blair Witch film, Book Of Shadows:Blair Witch 2($13.2 million in 2000). With horrible word of mouth, Blair Witch should die off quickly and make above $20 million domestic.                                     Other sequel, Bridget Jones's Baby underperformed with its stateside performance. It's by far the lowest grossing of the three Bridget Jones films with an estimated $8.2 million. While thankfully it should make its money back overseas, Bridget Jones should have so-so legs and make near $25 million domestic.     Oliver Stone's true-story thriller Snowden debuted around expectations although still dissapointing with its $40 million production budget with an estimated $8 million opening weekend. That debut is Stone's lowest grossing debut ever since The Doors back in 1991 although that had higher adjusted attendance. It also on-par with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's last film released in September Don Jon which debuted with $8.6 million three years ago. Look for Snowden to make around $25 million domestic.                                                      Even with Blair Witch coming out this weekend, Don't Breathe held solid this weekend around 32% which is overall the best holds for a horror film this year! Look for Don't Breathe to make around $90 million domestic.                                    Last weekend's film When The Bough Breaks suffered hefty decline this weekend around 61% which is smaller than The Perfect Guy's drop but worse than No Good Deed's drop. With more adult orientented films coming out, When The Bough Breaks will fall quickly, and make near $35 million domestic.                                                          Suicide Squad had a solid hold under 20%. Overall Suicide Squad should have potential to shoot up $325 million domestic.                     Last weekend's bomb The Wild Life had a decent hold around 20%. Although, it should likely lose a big chunk of families next weekend with Storks. The film should make around $10 million domestic. Kubo and Pete's Dragon had decent holds as well. But should face some harsh declines next weekend with Storks. Kubo should make $50 million, while Pete's Dragon should make north of $75 million.

Side note but I just watched Warcraft and it isn't a bad movie. It was pretty entertaining. But it had the potential to be a great one. They took some risks with killing some characters and Travis Fimmel did well with what he was given. All in all though, it was a mess. I really hope we get a sequel though.
