@JJ-8 Question: within the "films only avaliable 1 month from release" thing, does that mean I can only vote in films precisely 1 month, or I can vote in anything that comes out less than a month away (which means I can still invest in Underworld and whatever)?

And btw, Amityville has moved to June, so... you'll have to adjust that, me thinks -_-

Sure, you are able invest in any film which is within 1 month of it's release date.  so yes, you can invest in anything that is still available less than a month away.

Yep and in regards to Amityville, everyone who invested loses that investment (you get your money back) and it will available again later this year.

Alright then, thanks. Btw, you mentioned restrictions in the number of investments in the rules... can you tell me just how many can I make?

Restrictions work as follows -

you can invest as much as you want (as long as you can afford it of course)

Once a film is released, it then counts towards your "Wide" releases.  A film is considered to be Wide when it's greater than 600 theatres (as per BOM's counts).  eg. if a film is in 1500 theaters and you have 50%, you are considered to have it in 750 screens and it's still wide for you.  however if you only had 20% of the investment you would have it in 300 theatres (20% of 1500).

the restriction is if you have 300% or greater of films in release that are "wide" (as per notes above) you CANNOT invest in a film that is listed as a Wide release by BOM.

This will obviously change from week to week as a film is slowly pulled from theatres over it's run.  this recognises that a typical studio does not have the capability to manage to many wide releases.  effectively it's 3 full releases or 300% as noted.

so feel free to invest as much as you want... it's about management of the films once they are released.  it's possible to fly under the radar or just go way over the top, but remember going way over means you won't be able to invest for a while, at least until your % comes back below 300%.

(I typically post an update on a weekly basis so you will know if you over or not )

Under the new rules we are still within 24 hours of first availability.... i'm investing

100% - split :)

which means it's maxed out at 300% (remember we can goto a max of 300% in the first 24 hrs but if we go above 300% in the first 12 hrs then it's as per the new rule)

(PS - i will set some films ~ less than before ~ to 300% of course but i didn't see any in January worthy ;) )
