My audience had a completely WTF reaction to the trailer for this before Split over the weekend. I don't think it's gonna do too much, horror/comedy hybrids are always tough sells.

It's psychological horror for black people who are defensive about racism, historically and currently.

 

If you complain about Hollywood doing endless franchises and sequels here's them experimenting.

Good news for Get Out is that the trailer was attached to Split, even here in the UK too.

 

I've always said this will open north of $20M.

Out now, after that RINGS viral clip getting 85.6m views yesterday on Facebook, 4.7m shares and 1.3m reactions.

 

I think GET OUT will open to $20m+, but I think Rings will gross $40-50m total.

Holy Fuck! Already 14 reviews in and it still at 100%, and with a 8.0 Average score, incredible, looking for a score similar to Don't Breathe.

What "race conscious," "socially aware" film would get a bad review these days?

 

None.  This may stay at 100% and it's not because of anything to do with the quality of the film.

 

I read an early script for this and the ending twist/plot point is so ridiculous, it's hard to believe.

Remember when you said no one in Middle America would see a movie with "emaciated" Emma Stone? Go back to the cave where you belong.

The audiences going to see that aren't there to see some overly skinny actress.  They could not care less about anorexic, emaciated, sickly Emma Stone.  They just liked the idea of an old-fashioned musical.

 

And even I didn't think it was that bad, outside of the terrible, out of place opening freeway number.
