Hmmmm... Is $150million over six days good... or bad...?

It would be bad, sub 300 total.  Anything under 170 would be bad, probable drop from Homecoming.

You can basically ignore tracking for this one even more than usual, we haven’t had a serious summer Tues release to base to comparisons on since 2012.

If it drops, it would be something like Spider Man 2 that dropped its domestic numbers even after the well reviewed first Spidey 2002.

I think the number will go significantly up. there are 3 more weeks to go and murmurs are that the movie's great. so it should have reviews + buzz.

Though to be fair, it was a different time for that SM-film and Raimi’s first SM-film benefited from being the first monumentally huge & popular superhero-blockbuster of the 2000’s.

Spidey 2002 in that case had a lot more hype though as the first ever Spidey film. Right now I'm very sure that Far From Home is at least more anticipated than SMH.

This will definitely go well over $150 million in its first six days.

Actually looking through the THR article the 154 million estimate is from Sony itself, so it's even more certainly a lowball. "Some industry experts" are saying 180 million apparently. Also Sony hasn't really done much of a marketing push for this yet, which I don't think tracking takes into account.

Higher than Homecoming so I'd say it's good.

But I would expect FFH to be more frontloaded than Homecoming.

Didn’t Homecoming make $154 million over its first six days, without receiving a holiday boost?

Anyway, Sony is obviously lowballing the film.

This movie is also being released in the Summer, so I don’t see how that’s relevant.

The fact that Godzilla, Dark Phoenix, and MIB are all "underwhelming" probably won't hurt Spidey's box office either.

Agreed! That will help it make lots of money in the first 3 weeks before TLK but it's possible they'll coexist rather than one crushing another.

And here I thought the first poster was bad...

But the IMAX poster made me realize something, hear me out. It was long ago, but I did go to Italy to do some graphic design work... and at least back THEN, the horribly outdated design style shown in that IMAX poster is what THEY loved.

So I wouldn't really be surprised if they hired people from Italy to give it that Italian "style". Seriously, I wish I was just joking here. But "I see it" now.
