POTC trilogy's so underrated. there's more creativity in those movies than in many acclaimed blockbusters.

Favorable ER or not, DH2 and ROTK earned their boxoffice fair and square. They were the culmination of their stories, received raves, people showed up in droves. I love them so much.

Ok, to be fair, 1.3B does not look good after 2B to untrained eyes.  I'm sure studio is satisfied and the total is closer to their internal projections than to fandom overprojections. But non-experts will always see 2B vs 1.3B and go "holy shit what a drop!" and get hung up only on that aspect. It's like some fans put too much value on #1 boxoffice spot regardless of OW/budget ratio as if #1 means automatic hit.
