baumer
Passengers was an emotional shot to the gut. Kind of like Titanic in space. Not sure what critics didnt like. I think itll play very strongly over the holidays.

Porthos
The New Jedi Order, summed up in two sentences: In the year Jar Jar Binks was introduced to the world, it decided to introduce a bunch of folks with Torture Fetishes who were nigh-unstoppable, would make Klingons blush with their brutality and where even religious zealots of our world would take a long look at them and go, "Dude. Maybe take Thursdays off... You know, to pace yourself". And, oh yeah, it dropped a moon on Chewbacca. --- Pretty much tells you everything you need to know where THAT series was headed. Not sure this critical reaction was really avoidable. Maybe if Sony hadn't tried to cover it up in the marketing, IDK. Maxmoser3
Not bad for Rogue One. Decent preview numbers for Sing, Assassin's Creed, and Passengers all three should be 25+ for the weekend, and Rogue One should be $75-$80 3-day.
baumer
Yea Max. Theres a good chance Sing might clear 25 mill on Christmas Day. And R1 isnt doing 70 over Christmas weekend.

It just needs to perform like Tangled over the holidays and considering it's outpacing even TS2, it seems to have a good shot at $218-225+ million by the end of 2016. Even Pixar couldn't churn out two critically acclaimed and box office successes in one year... goes to show you how mammoth-like and GOLDEN the Revival Era of WDAS is right now. The big test begins tomorrow... *praying to the box-office gods* PS: Comparison to PIXAR is not meant to dilute or minimize Pixar's worth and success, but rather showcase how far WDAS has come from the darkness that was the 2000s since Pixar remains a golden brand in animation. On an average per-book basis Legacy of the Force may have been more bloodthirsty, since it was only 9 novels instead of about 20.

Always felt like, as an outsider, the EU was too afraid to stray from Luke, Leia or Han. Edited December 21, 2016 by RandomJC
