If Netflix start to put out major films(like this and Bright) without a theatrical release maybe we can just make a thread for Netflix released movies that have no theatrical release? Just an idea.

Yeah. Like the Classic Convo thread but non-theatrical studio releases. I like it. Though, gotta figure, a la Beasts of No Nation, stuff like Okja, Bright and, hell, even The Discovery, will get at least limited releases which will allow them a regular thread.

Still wish Netflix could cut better trailers. But, hell, looks fantastic. Like Bong Joon-ho breather live action life into a Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro. Can't wait. Hope to catch it in theater and not just simply stream it on Netflix.

I've read on a Brazilian site that this got loads of bad reactions on Cannes from movie purists who didn't wanna see a Netflix movie getting into the competition. Apparently from next year on Netflix movies without theatrical release won't be able to compete anymore after the outcry.

Reportedly for good or ill his performance is so flamboyant you could see it from outer space.
