Something the loonie Shut Down  RT'ers / critic conspiracists have in common with the Chinese Gov't

An editorial published on the mobile site of the People’s Daily, the official mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, on Tuesday said "vicious and irresponsible" reviews written to "grab eyeballs" had caused serious harm to the ecosystem of the Chinese film industry. The article singled out Douban and Maoyan, another influential reviews aggregator and mobile ticketing service, for its "surprisingly low" ratings of the three Chinese films. The piece went on to suggest that Douban's reviews might have been hacked and manipulated.

The stakes were raised considerably Wednesday when Maoyan removed professional film critics' reviews from its main page in response to the criticism. The Global Times, a nationalist state-backed newspaper, reported Thursday that Douban and Maoyan's offices were visited by officials from media regulator the State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT).

I don't think ASgard 1 and 2 would even bother to do any math right now.  There's just no point.  Deadline can easily just go to 2011 numbers from Mojo and make a projection for today.

Boxofficemojo had an interesting take regarding the potential negative impact of NFL/College football bowl games on this holiday weekend.  Maybe the combination of New Years Eve plus football fans (primarily male) staying at home hurts Rogue One more than expected?   Funny though that despite bringing this up, the site still projects 60 million for the 3 day weekend.

In the long run, it won't matter. Nothing will stop Rogue One from hitting 540 million plus.

Wow. I know there is a lot of concern about the Chinese box office right now, but that is absolutely insane.

Just doing some quick estimating...if Passengers was to follow GWTDT (and it's been doing a bit better so far) it would have about 66-67 mill by Monday.  100 is a pretty good bet and if it gets some late legs, it should push past 110 and maybe even leg it out to 120.
