What about: no one should react so / too strongly and assume the worst before not having seen the results?

Exactly. Don't panic about reshoots/reports of troubled production until you see the film, but also don't dismiss them as irrelevant.

Last Minute Update: Silence’s wide expansion was switched from the 6th to the 13th. That will help the films this week, but kill its box office chances.

out of the January thoughts of the-numbers, did we knew this already?

Can you please for once also look into Moana, Doctor Strange... = it is about if Disney might reach the $3b incl Saturday or not

I am genuinely bemused at how many people seem to be cheering for Disney to pass $3B.

I mean, why???

How much total did they need to reach it?

If I remember it right, Friday estimates at BOM already calculated in, it is for Saturday a bit over $17.05m. Assuming the estimates for Friday's Disney result ( 4 films) hold

Because this is a site about box office numbers and that is a milestone number.

It's a milestone alright, but not for a film or a franchise or actor (that someone can relate to) but for a faceless corporation. I definitely get the geek value of the number, but it's the cheering that bewilders me.

Unless someone owns their stock. Then it's perfectly understandable.

Why do you cheer for a sports team? You don't get any residuals from it. It's the same thing here. Most of us are just box office nerds so we get excited by these things

About milestones, last year we cheered for Universal, ... milestones that are also round numbers, that maybe or maybe not will be reached at the last day in the year... is that really that strange?
