I was really hoping that I would at least have like two weeks off before we start the hype train again. N.    OH HEY EVERYONE!!!   I clearly marked that you cannot put speculation in the open forum.   It needs to go behind a spoiler tag.   We’ve had two violations since I posted this.   I am really seriously considering changing The penalty on this from a 24 hour thread ban on the first violation to a permanently ban. Hey! I apologize I’ve been ignoring this thread because I don’t want to be spoiled for the movie. And I totally didn’t realize that we’re getting close to when tickets are going to be on sale. So in the next day or two I’ll put up the contests for the box office, pretty much exactly what I did for Spider-Man, so that people can have a week to predict previews before the tickets go on sale!

Most of these movies are written by marvels internal team and implemented by generic directors.

 

Others, like GotG are written and directed by auteurs.

Ron Howard is not to blame for Solo debacle. he actually showed spotsmanship when he took the project in trouble knowing it was likely impossible to salvage. Nobody in Hollywood thinks it was his fault because it wasn't. It's all down to really bad management [of that movie at least].

It may make sense from a technical point of view, but you already got people worried and now to salvage the situation you bring in the director of Solo? I just don't see it happening. I think they will go for someone with a lower profile
