thats suddenly bad ? you dont even know why scott left in the first place ?

Most of these movies are written by marvels internal team and implemented by generic directors.

Others, like GotG are written and directed by auteurs.

Ari Aster (the director of Midsommar)

If Derrickson left over creative differences, what makes you think that Disney or Fiege would work well with Aster?

The first movie was just OK outside of the visuals and easily the weakest of Phase 3. So I don't really care that Derrickson has left.

Strange was better in Ragnarok and IW than his own movies anyways.

Ant Man 2? Cap Marvel?

From strongest to weakest:

Black Panther > Guardians V2 > Ragnarok > Infinity War > Endgame > Ant Man 2 > Doctor Strange >>> Captain Marvel = FFH = Homecoming >>> Civil War

Personally, the MCU films have been much better when it’s more of the director’s film than Feige’s.

People just need a excuse to take shots at Marvel.

Nothing to worry about.

When you are successful and most of the critics and audience like your movie.

Some people will become vindictive.

'Marvel is formulaic'

'Marvel doesn't care about director'

'Marvel is cookie cutter'

'Marvel is not woke enough'

'Marvel is too woke'

'Marvel is killing Cinema'

'Marvel is factory, they don't care about anything else'

If you have so many problems with MCU then stop commenting. But you will not.

Why? Because you feel very good in highlighting the smallest mistake MCU makes.

Ha. You certainly took a different stance in the Birds of Prey thread yesterday.

The hypocrisy.

Just did, seen 3 negative posts. It’s not just Marvel that gets it ;)

This movie probably requires even more oversight by Feige because of the multiverse stuff and the disney + tie in.

I'll guess Ron Howard as a replacement for now.

Why Ron Howard? Not exactly the hottest pick after Solo for a studio movie. They'll dig up some tv director yes man.

Experienced, safe choice and will get movie out on time (which seems to be the main issue according to Derrickson's tweets).

Ron Howard is not to blame for Solo debacle. he actually showed spotsmanship when he took the project in trouble knowing it was likely impossible to salvage. Nobody in Hollywood thinks it was his fault because it wasn't. It's all down to really bad management [of that movie at least].

Well, at least Scott Derrickson can take solace in finding out that he actually has fans who admired his ‘artistic’ craft and flair. All 2 or 3 of them in this thread.

His movie was well reviewed so it isn't like he left cause they forced out a turkey director. No matter what I personanlly think of his movie, reviews were among MCU strongest. Stonger than IW. :winomg:

It may make sense from a technical point of view, but you already got people worried and now to salvage the situation you bring in the director of Solo? I just don't see it happening. I think they will go for someone with a lower profile

My money's on either Travis Knight or Jennifer Kent. Marvel's looked at both for stuff before.
