Well I'm seeing this tonight so hopefully it lives up.

Just saw this!! It's kind of bonkers and I'm sure some people will hate it, but I loved it. Definitely understand the screenplay wins honestly, it's actually really funny at times and almost like a dark comedy although it takes a weird turn. 

 

ETA: also there's a great DDL quote in this movie that will probably be meme'd

I feel like it might be even more than the usual PTA joint cause this movie is decidedly less macho than his other movies too.

Also this movie is VERY beautiful. The costumes are unbelievable. I sincerely hope this wins the Academy Award (rather than like idk Victoria & Abdul). The score is also amazing.

God I wish Focus would move away from their focus (heh) on Darkest Hour, and give this all their attention this awards season.

Fuck yea. Liked Inherent Vice more than alot, did not like the Master and was lukewarm on it despite obvious strengths, other four PTAs (never seen Hard Eight) are all varying degrees of brilliant. So excited for this. Can't wait.
