Lego Batman is an 8/10. It's fine, but you're not going to remember it a day later. Split has two excellent performances, great technical aspects, and an ending that will have you thinking for days.

Sounds more like a 6-6.5 than an 8.

I'm a little generous with my grades, but not CJohn generous  Basically:

10: Masterpiece

9: Great

8.5: Very good

8: Good, but not much more or less than that

7: Enjoyable, but the movie has a lot of flaws keeping it from standing out

6: This is where movies start getting in the negative territory. At this rating, I'm either indifferent towards the movie or have genuine problems with it, but not enough to fully hate it.

5 and below is when I really start going negative.

Mine is more like:

10: Heaven

9: Almost heaven

8: Playground

7: Kinda shitty but it has cool moments that entertain and/or good acting

6: It probably has one stand out moment but the rest is shit

5 and below: Several levels of DOG SHIT

I could swear your DOG SHIT rating starts at 7, minimum.

It might seem like that, but no. 7 is for shitty stuff like Civil War. Good acting mostly, and a really great entertaining scene at the middle, but that is it.

I use letter grades for movies I see:

A+: Masterpiece

A: Excellent

A-/B+: Great

B: Good but that's about it

B-/C+: Good but tends to have some sort of problem like acting or story.

C: Enjoyable but forgettable

C-/D+: Mediocre but has it's moments

D: Shitty but has a few good things

F: Pure Shit

F+: Either burn it with fire or kill me

Why is F above F+?

It's gonna finish with close to $50M. It's done tremendous in spite of Weinstein instead of because of them, I'd say.

I dunno, I think they navigated some tough waters well (in terms of finding theaters during a stretch with many movies with a higher profile.) Full credit to them.

I don't like it. Am I forced to like it for some reason? You like that piece of trash Legend of Tarzan ffs.

Not really.

But mostly I was just referring to you calling giving a movie a 7/10 "shitty" when that is usually a sign of a good movie.
