i haven't seen any reviews calling it a slow burn. no idea how there are people who think it's slow.

People duped into thinking that the actual heist itself makes up most of the movie from the ads, I suppose. Also people who equate anything prestige-y (which this does given the talent both in front and behind the camera) with "boring."

Maybe slow compared to Infinity War?  But honestly, Widows was probably about as quickly paced as Black Panther, which was a big action hit.

BO wise it reminds me of Selma.  A movie that could have easily been a big commercial and awards hit had it actually been sold correctly.

It's a good movie but it does often feel like McQueen's art-house tenancies are in direct conflict with Flynn's genre instincts. Which is a shame because the heist elements we get are really well done. I wasn't surprised to learn that it was a british miniseries before this - there's so much plot you could easily spread it out over a number of episodes, probably to its benefit.

Zimmer legit just reused his Blade Runner theme for this with a few small altercations. Reminds me of when he just put Time in 12 Years a Slave and just gave it a different title. Dude must really not wanna compose new shit for McQueen films
