Well any version of this is going to be rated R just based on the script...  they may still be tweaking a few things that have no bearing on the rating.

Granted we do live in a world where every other movie is made by Steven Soderbergh and if he were behind this he'd still be gearing up for the shoot with the same release date.

Alfonso Cuaron's "Roma" will be at Venice and NYFF.

This is the opening night film though; that’s typically saved for premieres.

Carnage was the last NYFF opening film to have previously screened at either of those but that was seven years ago.
