THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE | Terry Gilliam | Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Olga Kurylenko, Stellan Skarsgård

Recommended Posts

The film actually opened...and the kindest thing that can be said about early reviews are mixed. The Terms "A Mess" and "Noble Failure" are being thrown about.

Apparently the film has sme individually good scenes, but also a lot of clunky ones and comes nowhere near jelling as a movie.  it's not a total disaster by any means, but Gilliam apparently falls short of delivering on his intial vision.

Irony is that Lost In La Mancha might be more memorable then the actual film.

The Noble Knight of the Woeful Continence has never had much luck with film.

Last major effort was the 1973 film of "Man Of La Mancha",and it was pretty much a disaster, often cited as an example of how NOT to bring a great musical to the screen.

Making a film with the Cervantes CLassic as your source material does seem to tilting at windmills.

Besides 12 Monkeys, all Terry Guilliam movies have a messy vibe, that s basically his style IMO.

Yes, but the reviews are saying this time the mess is not nearly as good as some of his previous messes.
