Obviously he’s not who I would have envisioned for Adam, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be amazing in the role. I’m just happy the Adam Warlock stinger is finally paying off after 6 years.

Apparently 1917's George MacKay was also heavily in the running for the role and Poulter won it. Pretty huge get for him, especially after Fukunaga's version of It that would've starred him fell apart during the pre-production stages years back.

MacKay is physically closer to Adam Warlock than Poulter but they saw something in him so we'll see. He'll jack up, grow hair, etc.

Marvel Studios have a tradition of off beat not who you expected casting that works out really well.

Amusing that in the MCU Adam shows up after Thanos is gone, since he was one of Thanos's big enemies in the Marvel comics....

I'm willing to bet that we'll see him at least one more time (hasn't this been rumored already, anyway?).  Very likely could be in this movie...a flashback, or Warlock taking on another variant Thanos and stopping a threat before it gets to us again?  Feige will find a way to give the fans a Warlock V. Thanos scene somewhere, I guarantee it...

 

First real character along with Kang that I'm actually a little interested in seeing what the MCU does with him...There are a lot of great stories with this character.  Used to get him mixed up with Captain Marvel when I was a kid. 😂 Most of the rest of upcoming MCU stuff doesn't interest me much, at this point...

Gotta wonder if Captain Marvel will make some kind of guest shot, since she encounteed the Guardians quite a bit in the comics, Rocket always gave her a bad time and Rocket and Goose really did not like each other.

I don't recall anyone being teased but Warlock. Maybe some Ravager that will have a big role? Or maybe the scientist that created Rocket? I'm not familiar with the comics to know if there are any other options. 

 

I do feel like the "every big name actor" part is a bit tongue-in-cheek.
