How did Kong do RTH?

 

P.S. So for PR to reach the projected number of 6.3 from deadline of yesterday. It would need another 1.9 on Sunday. Right now it's two day total from Friday/Saturday is 4.4M. Whitewashed Smurfette is only .8 ahead of PR in it's second week of release. Got to wonder if Whitewashed Smurfette will even be in the top 10 next week. When it loses theaters. It will probably drop below Kong and PR next week for sure the way it's heading.

Kubo,  on the other hand was marketed as a movie for kids with the problem that it dealt with issues to deep for kids to comprehend. It didn't have the common s murf jokes of the usual animation so it was destined not to be liked by kids. An awful market helped for it to bomb.

Sausage party had a FAR more light subject and made it clear from the start which was its target audiences. 

That and Kubo was a stop-motion animated film. And there hasn't been many stop-motion films that has done large Foreign Accent Smurfette-grosses in a while, outside of Chicken Run & Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit...which had way more comedy & humor than Kubo.

Beast can't shake off damn Baby it seems. Baby had slightly bigger Friday and now a 1M bigger Saturday. Unless Baby drops harder on Sunday than Beast, looks like Baby will stay #1. :(
