ADRIFT | STX | Shailene Woodley, Sam Claflin....June 1st...trailer page 2...based on a true story

Wow.  That's an awesome trailer.  I'm genuinely moved.  Good job to get Claflin in there instead of Teller.  I think this could be a good sized hit this summer.

If you told me that this movie was made back in 2014 and it was sitting on the shelf for 4 years I’d believe you.

Why?  It looks pretty good to me.  It's a story about survival and the human condition. Seems pretty interesting to me.

Looks like a great survival/disaster drama movie.

This guy made Everest which is seriously underrated and deserved better fate at the boxoffice.

Hopefully, this is a nice little hit for everyone involved.

I want him to get an opportunity to do his passion Viking project.

I'm all for this.  Looks very solid.

But the last time there was a Sam Claflin romance film released in this same release spot, we got Me Before You which is one of the worst films of 2016.  The good thing is this film looks like it won't say the best option if you're handicapped is to kill yourself.

This looks really solid. Especially the disaster sequence, which had my heart pounding seeing it in tge theatre (I generally don’t like the idea of being in the open ocean in general so this really affects me)

That being said, I’m worried it’s going to be another Mountain Between Us, both quality wise and at the box office.

Rated PG-13 for injury images, peril, language, brief drug use, partial nudity and thematic elements.

What's the last movie to have six reasons for a rating? :hahaha:

Bye Bye Man had like 8

Rated PG-13 for terror, horror violence, bloody images, sexual content, thematic elements, partial nudity, some language and teen drinking

Here is STX 19 films so far.  I am thinking Adrift could get 2,750 theaters and a little over 12.5m OW.

Adrift is opening the weekend after Solo: Star Wars and against Paramount's Action Point and BH Tilt's Upgrade.

I hope this does well for STX. Not only does the movie itslef look good, but that studio generally puts out quality content, and it would be a shame to see them go under.

STX's summer slate all look like movies I want to see. This, Mile 22, Happytime
