but also i'm pretty tired of hollywood casting irish actors as scots and acting like the accent is interchangeable. it isn't and the irish for the most part haven't been very good at it. i'll guess we'll see in this saoirse is pretty good with accents but i'm still cautious.

Main thing is Saoirse is the right age for Mary, Queen of Scots....just about the first time I have seen that in a movie. In all the other film versions Mary is in her early thirties...way too old.

Of course, living in Sacramento, I am rooting for Saorse...

 

And Margot Robbie, as Good Queen Bess, will have to fight memories of fellow Aussie Cate Blanchett....
