Frozen II OW estimate: $6.2m, or around 1.94m adm

 

Some notes:

- Biggest OW ever for animated films

- Already beat the first Frozen's $2.7m total

- Will easily beat Minions ($8.8m) to be the biggest animated film ever

- Will be the first animated film ever that crosses $10m

That would be very very hard, as I have heard that JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL is going to be bumped earlier to Dec. 4 instead of Dec.11.

Then again, that looks like Sony lobbying to get some space (pun intended) from STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. At this point in time Disney might be saying, hey, look how big FROZEN II is. Do you guys really wanna "let it go"? 😁

Both are busted anyway. #Frozen2 is true undisputed champ.

No official number yet, but looks like #FORDvFERRARI had an excellent 2nd week in Indonesia and might be racing towards $1.5M/470K adm.
If true, that's already a 2.5X multiplier which is truly superb.

With a very soft 45% second week drop, #Frozen2 is now #1 all-time animated movie in Indonesia and the first ever to break $10M. Admission is closing in on 3.5M, will surely reach 4M.

Also, JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL is confirmed to open early on 4 Dec (presales have already started for a few days).

However, the presales does not look that hot, so we might not be expecting something as big as the 2017 one.

Yes, Hollywood tentpoles usually drop 60% (based on daily average) on the second week, so 45% is beyond awesome.

 

This looks to be taking its toll on Jumanji though.

the market has been consistently deliver 10m grosser. 10m, 20m or even 30m will become more and more common here.

Unfortunately that's unlikely. #10 is Age of Ultron with $15.5m. Frozen II needs exceptional holds for that to happen. But with Jumanji taking many of its screens in several days, that would be really hard. I think #12 is the highest it could get.

 

Btw what an interesting yearly ranking. MCU, action and supernatural horror films are expected to be there. But to see a Disney princess/musical film, an animated/musical film, and a psychological drama on that list, is pretty absurd. I mean I was one of few people who believed that Frozen II could cross $10m, but this is waaay more than I expected. Maleficent 2 also came out of nowhere.

Great to see that at least Indonesia still supports TCU. I had no idea Annabelle 3 did so great here, but I suppose it was expected after how huge A:C, TC2 and TN were.
