WrathOfHan Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I'm pleased to hear this. I don't know if releasing it 4 years after the first is good for it's box office, though. 4 Quote
YM! Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Perfect. One of the better Illumination films gets a sequel. 1 Quote
elcaballero Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 So even Illumination couldn't make a 2-year production cycle work for SLOP 2. Quote
Morieris Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Nice. It wasn't special but I enjoyed the first one. Hopefully they can give the other characters something to do besides be cardboard cutouts. Quote
cannastop Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Well fuck me. This animal city is going to have two movies by the time Zootopia 2 is announced. Quote

Jonwo Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 4 years is a big gap but I assume Wicked in 2019 prevented them scheduling it then. I do wonder if Sing needs a sequel, seems kind of a one and done film Quote

Captain H Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Well, I didn't hate Sing and want it to never exist, so there's that. Minions is a completely different story though. Quote
Eric Olsen Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 https://deadline.com/2020/04/minions-the-rise-of-gru-sing-2-wicked-release-date-change-global-international-box-office-coronavirus-1202897417/ Quote Last week, Illumination/Universal’s Minions: The Rise Of Gru stepped off of its global release which was previously set for late June in some offshore markets and for July 3 domestically. It has now been scheduled for July 2, 2021, taking the slot that belonged to Sing 2, which in turn is now headed to Christmas 2021 (December 22 domestically). Universal has thus pushed Wicked off of its holiday 2021 launch. That film remains undated for the moment. Quote
