BOM uses the current exchange rate to convert the whole revenue of a country. In China's case, the rate has dropped steadily, dropping the actual revenue. The revenue from China should be at $375M or so. So OS-China is still less than 1B.

Yeah, that's just boxofficemojo using latest ER to recalculate the entire total for the market every week, so their China USD number is off. And the-numbers is even more off than boxofficemojo. They have China at $358.6M, for the same reason(recalculating with latest ER), and on top of that their OS total is off as well. Boxofficemojo's foreign total is the correct one, not the-numbers.com's.

 

Disney reported China was at $374.8M in their last update, on June 24th. Has made another $700k in China since then.

Thx, so will finish with $376M and $678M Dom for $1054M combined just a little below TFA's Dom+Ch $1060.8M

And Os-Ch is at 988.4M after a 870k weekend so adding two times that would give it a 990M finish compared to TFA's 1007.4M.

And WW IW would finish with $2044M and TFA finished with $2068.2M.

And Dom+Ch share would be 51.57% for IW and for TFA it's 51.29%

The BOM numbers are nuts - its pointed out for years and yet they still do the same stupid thing with conversions.  AIW gets an extension, makes almost another $9m but instead loses $6m+ according to their charts...

China is about $375-77m. 

 

BOM is just screwing up the total by applying the changing exchange rate to it's entire total when it doesn't apply to about 99% of it's box office run there.

No, the 1.366 OS total is correct, and so is the WW. The consequence of China’s real number being 376ish is that OS-China is 990, and will not reach 1B.      

 

There’s actually a thread on reddit right now that is high on the front page celebrating 1B OS-China, and the only comment correcting it is sitting at like -40, which is some pretty hilarious shit.
