#2 The Grinch 25.6%

Pulse always 8:35-8:49 EST:

The Grinch: 184/15 minutes
The Girl in the Spider's Web: 32/15
Overlord: 27/15
FB 2: 30/15
Ralph: 5/15
Creed II: 5/15

And Pulse always 10:51-11:04 EST:

The Grinch: 274/14 minutes - The Nutcracker had 82/15 at that time, would be at least more than 60M OW in comparison
Overlord: 50/14 - in front of Spider's Web
Spider's Web: 42/14 - maybe not the best comparison for Spider's Web and Overlord but Hunter Killer had 24/15 (almost) to that time (but Hunter Killer increased strongly on Friday)
FB 2: 42/14

Widows: 1/14
Ralph: 11/14
Creed II: 6/14
no Robin Hood, Instant Family this time

Spider's Web going from ~3,000 theater counts to just 2,400+ now to finally 2,929.

they must be going loco with how that extra 500 theaters.

multi-media/million dollar products like this making such huge shift announcements the week of could mean a changing film industry?

possible Fantastic Beasts 2 could shut down Rotten Tomatoe's influence demanding a new cumulative app

First Grinch shows:

Local: 30/78

Tallahassee IMAX: 9/372

Based on how sales are for later shows, I don't think it's going to pass The Nutcracker at either theater (the 3D show at 8:30 here only has 3 seats sold, and Nutcracker was around 45 total), but looking around Orlando, it's selling quite a bit. We'll see what happens.

North Shore Cinema update

—————————————————————-

The Grinch (45 minutes before 6:00 showing) is at 57/139. Decent start all things considered let’s see how it picks up.

Spider's Web 69 994 6.94%
The Grinch 451 2355 19.15%

Spider's Web comps:

38% of Blade Runner (12.4M)

86% of The Commuter (11.8M)

117% of Death Wish (15.2M)

53% of Red Sparrow (8.9M)

62% of Tomb Raider (14.6M)

160% of Mile 22 (22M)

141% of Peppermint (18.9M)

Well, it seems like it will at least cross $10M...maybe.

Grinch comps:

126% of Coco (64.2M)

347% of Ferdinand (46.5M)

18% of Incredibles 2 (32.2M)

119% of Hotel Transylvania 3 (52.3M)

198% of House w/ Clock (52.6M)

248% of Smallfoot (57.1M)

327% of Goosebumps 2 (51.6M)

425% of Nutcracker (86.6M)

Everything seems to be pointing towards an opening in the 50s. Yet at the same time, it's foolish to doubt Illumination. Pulse sales have also been solid too. Definitely a "let's see what happens" kind of performance this weekend.
