It was finale for Andy and his toys, but I never remember Tom Hanks talking about toys having a closure. But it would have been a great finish. Let us see how reviews are for this one though early tweets are promising.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think Toy Story 4 looks good personally. I'm just not buying into the "This is the finale" marketing again.

Pikachu and Aladdin (which played very similar to each other) did not play particularly similarly to I2 throughout the OW. The I2 comp was giving something like 8 million previews and 34 million for the true Friday when comparing their Pulse sales. I think a big issue is the summer release date will give more walkup strength to TS4/I2 when compared to those two.

Yes, but I don't track the OW. :)  I'm simply concerned with opening night previews.  Once we have that number we can use the internal multiplier of films like I2 and FD to figure out the OW.

Let me put it this way.  Of all the comps I have (CBMs, some event flicks, recent May movies) Aladdin and Detective Pikachu are the only ones that can play even remotely similarly.  Maaaaaaybe both JW:FK and KotM due to the walkup nature of monster/dino flicks.

But then again, there really are no perfect comps.  Not even Incredibles 2, as for the reasons given up thread.  Just have to use the comps available and adjust on the fly.

FWIW: As I type this out, probably will rope in both JW:FK and KotM if only for the walkup nature of those types of films.  Presuming KotM is walkup based, of course.  If it doesn't turn out to be so, I'll probably drop it from my comps.

Toy Story 4 has already sold over 1000 tickets at fandango.

Don't know exact #s hour to hour, but it's about 1,967. It also started presales on a Friday, when upcoming movies are deflated, so it's not a perfect comparison, but I feel like if Toy Story does at least 1,000 today, that would be an excellent start.

Godzilla seems to be doing what it needs to on fandango.

Thursday sales number look ok to me. It should hit sufficient preview number to hit 60m. But looking at friday/Saturday, it needs to buck up. For now I will stick to slightly worse preview to OW than Zilla 14 but 7m previews/60m OW wont be too bad.

Coming in rotten on RT right now, average rating just above 4.1

If audience WOM is similar, it's going to nosedive. Hopefully the GA enjoys it a lot more.

Like how audience WoM was similar for Aladdin?

its early for Zilla reviews. Let us wait at least until 100 reviews. But we dont want BvS kind of reviews. Aladdin was at least straddling rotten line instead of being in BvS land. We should hit 100 reviews in a day or so.

The score's going up for it, not down which is a good sign.

Wtf?0.o  that low?:( and rotten : o /sad

wish i was a critic:/ .. i would put 4 grades.. 1 for what movie itself wanted to be... 2 for what audience that is expected to turn up can expect from it... 3 for what i personaly think of it...and 4 what i objectively think of it

Btw don't expect to see much traction from the Toy Story 4 fan event. For some reason it's not at my theater or Garden State (The biggest theater in NJ and one of the top 10 biggest theaters in America) so it's going to be a very limited amount of screenings.

The Secret Life Of Pets 2 (9 before previews, 10 before release)

North Shore Cinema

6/6/19

Mequon, WI

6:00 - 3/98

8:15 - 0/98

10:30 - 0/98

Dark Phoenix (9 before previews, 10 before release)

North Shore Cinema

6/6/19

Mequon, WI

7:00 - 11/119

10:00 - 2/119

Got to find comparisons but both of these are very awful. Starting to see a realistic possibility that Pets 2 does sub $55M and Dark Phoenix does sub $40M Ow.

KotM has pulled into the #4 slot on the rolling Fandango tracker, moving ahead of Pika Pika, as per the chart given by @keysersoze123.  Still not up on MovieTickets.com. but it might show up before they shut down for the night in about 90 minutes.

KoTM movie ticket.com comps will be hard considering the weird release schedule sadly.

I doubt it will on a discount tuesday. But it should be there in the 1st update tomorrow morning.
