The Box Office Buzz and Tracking Thread: Electric Boogaloo

The Alien "sponsored hashtags" have been pretty lame and are upstaged by the actual politics happening daily. On Monday it was #SheWontGoQuitely which people thought was about Hillary launching her new PAC, yesterday was #EvilReturns and today's is #RunHidePray which sounds like a sequel to the Julia Roberts movie. Why not just sponsor #AlienCovenant instead???

To be fair, with everything happening in politics right now, movies feel like a secondary source for entertainment.

Wimpy Kid makes it onto Pulse. WW and Pirates trading the 5th spot through the day by the looks of it

1. Alien

2. GOTG2

3. Wimpy Kid

4. Snatched

5. Wonder Woman

Pulse is way too noisy for sure, changes every 15 minutes.

Wimpy Kid on Pulse makes me think it'll do $10-15m OW which isn't great but these films are cheap to make so they don't need huge OWs to succeed.

Pirates and WW on Pulse makes me think they'll do better than expected.

Alien isn't in IMAX or 3D I found out. They could have solved the first part of they kept the original August date

It is playing in every IMAX near me. Every IMAX theater apart from Disney is playing it on their IMAX screen in SoCal.

Checked both Amc IMAX's near me and it looks like Guardians is still playing. Weird

Alien will be fine. Let's not forget that it's a horror movie.

Universal is the only IMAX in Orlando that's getting Alien. At the Altamonte Mall and Pointe Orlando, Alien is getting Dolby/4DX respectively while GOTG is keeping IMAX. All the theater based PLFs are getting it.

Is it your sole duty to bad mouth anything by Fox?

To be fair to him he shits on a movie in half of the threads he post and some of them aren't from Fox. He's just one of those people, sadly.

Not a fan.
